Dick Kimmel and Co. Saturday, Sept. 6 8:00 PM We are so pleased to have Dick Kimmel and Company open our fall series. Dick and his band, featuring local singer extraordinaire, Jerilyn Kjellberg, have delighted audiences near and far with their mix of traditional styles. You'll hear driving bluegrass, traditional gospel, 30's style duets, old string-band classics and originals that seem like classics. |

Jerry Ostensoe and the Strollers Saturday, Sept. 13 8:00 PM Jerry hails from Sacred Heart, Minnesota and his songs and stories have a comfortable folky feeling. His first CD, "The Barns are Still Ringing" is one of my favorites. Jerry's band , The Strollers, consists of Richard Handeen on stand-up bass and "Pistol Pete" on harmonica. Jerry will also be playing selections from his newly released CD "Just East of West" . |

Jon Vezner Saturday, Oct. 4 8:00 PM Jon is a Minnesota native, Grammy award winning song writer currently residing in Nashville. His songs have been recorded by the likes of Martina McBride, Janis Ian, John Mellencamp, Nancy Griffith, Faith Hill, Kathy Mattea, Diamond Rio and Native American recording artist, Bill Miller. Jon's own musical style might be best described as eclectic folk. His songs show a dry wit and rare sensitivity as they deal with the universal themes and emotions of life. |
Chuck Suchy Friday, Oct. 10 8:00 PM His mature voice hovers over the Great Plains like heat ripples above summer blacktop. This is country music with its fingers in the soil and its heart heading down the highway on an old Indian motorcycle." -- Gary Joyner, Acoustic Guitar Magazine Chuck has been recommended to us highly so many times that we had to get him here from Mandan, North Dakota. Chuck will play selections from his most recent CD "An Evening in Paris", produced by Peter Ostroushko ( who also plays fiddle and mandolin on the CD). Don't miss this special show! |

Papa John Kolstad and Clint Hoover Saturday, Nov. 8 8:00 PM Guitar and harmonica blues at its best! West Bank legend, Papa John Kolstad, plays the unique styles that were current on the Minneapolis West Bank when Bob Dylan was still learning from Spider John Koerner and David Ray. Clint Hoover is a master on both chromatic and diatonic harps and is able to create a wide range of sounds from down and dirty blues to melodic standards to jazz. |

Dick Kimmel and Adam Granger CD Release Concert and Party Saturday, Nov. 22 8:00 PM (CD signing and open house 3-5 PM) Dick and Adam recorded their CD, "Live at the Rhein" at our place last March. This two record CD wonderfully captures their fabulous musicianship and great on-stage chemistry. The CD is full of life, humor and great music. Come take a listen. It'll make a great Christmas gift too! |

Bob Bovee and Gail Heil Saturday, Dec. 6 8:00 PM |

Old favorites back in New Ulm...Bob and Gail promise an enjoyable evening of
traditional music, featuring Gail on fiddle and vocals and Bob on banjo, guitar,
harmonica and vocals (he even yodels!). If you haven't seen them here
yet, our venue is relaxed and conducive to their type of entertainment, which
includes authentic cowboy songs, blues and rags with a bit of history and
folklore thrown in too |
Curtis & Loretta Saturday, Dec. 20 8:00 PM Last year we had a private party at the RRAC with Curtis & Loretta singing all holiday music, from the traditional to old English and Celtic. It was such fun that we decided to have them back for a public holiday concert. The music of the season is even better with Curtis rich tenor voice and Loretta's almost operatic alto and wonderful harp playing. Warning: You will be asked to sing along (and you will want to!) |
